Si vous utilisez Onshape alternativement un ordinateur de bureau, un ordinateur portable personnel et une tablette, Onshape est la solution idéale. Créé par les fondateurs de SolidWorks, il fonctionne entièrement dans votre navigateur.
J'étais sceptique il y a quelques années. Je ne le suis plus. Le moteur de rendu 2026 exploite WebGPU pour gérer des assemblages de milliers de pièces sans saccades. Grâce à son architecture cloud, le contrôle de version est automatique. Vous ne perdez jamais votre travail en cas de plantage.

Fonctionnalité phare : « Gestion des branches ». Vous pouvez tester une modification radicale de la conception sur une branche séparée, vous rendre compte qu'elle est catastrophique, et revenir instantanément à la branche principale.

Le hic : La version gratuite rend vos documents publics. Si vous développez un prototype pour un dispositif en instance de brevet, vous devez opter pour la version privée payante.
Blender : L'arsenal de l'artiste
Blender n'est pas un logiciel de CAO. Je le répète : Blender n'est pas un logiciel de CAO. Cependant, pour l'impression 3D, il est indispensable pour les formes organiques.
Si vous imprimez des statues, des accessoires de cosplay ou des poignées ergonomiques qui doivent épouser la forme de la main, les outils paramétriques peuvent s'avérer rigides et peu pratiques. Blender permet de sculpter avec des millions de polygones.
Mise à jour 2026 : L'extension « 3D Print Toolbox » est désormais intégrée et performante. Elle met automatiquement en évidence les géométries non-manifold (trous dans le maillage) qui pourraient entraîner des erreurs de découpe. J'utilise Blender pour texturer les pièces lisses exportées de Fusion 360. C'est un outil puissant et performant.
Bilan matériel pour 2026
Vous n'avez plus besoin d'une station de travail à 5 000 $. La plupart de ces plateformes privilégient la vitesse du processeur monocœur plutôt qu'un grand nombre de cœurs.

RAM : 32 Go constituent désormais la norme. 16 Go sont insuffisants.

GPU : Pour Fusion et Blender, une carte graphique dédiée (NVIDIA RTX série 50 ou équivalent) est utile, mais pas indispensable pour les tâches de base. Onshape gère la majeure partie du travail sur ses serveurs.

Périphérique d'entrée : Utilisez une souris à trois boutons. Tenter de modéliser avec un pavé tactile est la garantie d'un syndrome du canal carpien et d'une grande frustration. Croyez-moi.
La fabrication est une question de précision. Le logiciel que vous choisissez détermine la qualité de votre impression. Pour 90 % de mes lecteurs travaillant sur des impressions fonctionnelles, commencez par Fusion 360 ou Onshape. Apprenez à penser de manière paramétrique. Si vous sculptez, optez pour Blender. N'oubliez pas : un rendu esthétique ne sert à rien si les tolérances sont incorrectes. Mesurez deux fois, modélisez une seule fois, imprimez en toute sécurité.
