État de surface : L'état de surface brut après frittage était d'environ Ra 6,3 µm. Rugueux, comme du papier de verre fin, mais chimiquement propre.

Densité : Près de 99,8 %. J'ai effectué un test de porosité rapide en laboratoire, et le matériau a résisté à la pression du vide sans mastic.

Tolérances : Les diamètres d'alésage étaient à +/- 0,05 mm du fichier CAO.
Reproduire ce procédé en interne nécessiterait une pièce dédiée à la manipulation de l'argon et des poudres. L'externalisation de cette seule étape coûte 140 $. Aménager un laboratoire de métallurgie coûte plus de 100 000 $. Faites le calcul.
Protocole de sécurité : Risque lié à l'externalisation
En tant que spécialiste de la sécurité, je recommande souvent l'externalisation pour éviter les problèmes liés à l'hygiène chimique.
Si vous souhaitez imprimer avec des résines haute température ou des matériaux conducteurs, vous manipulez des COV (Composés Organiques Volatils) qui nécessitent une ventilation importante. En confiant ces travaux à un atelier de fabrication, vous externalisez de fait la conformité aux normes OSHA.
Cependant, la manipulation du colis requiert des précautions.

Déballage : Les impressions industrielles contiennent souvent des résidus de supports ou des traces de poudre métallique. Ouvrez les colis dans un endroit bien ventilé.

Nettoyage : Même les pièces « nettoyées » provenant de l'étranger peuvent présenter des traces de monomère non polymérisé en surface. Par mesure de précaution, je nettoie systématiquement les pièces SLA reçues avec de l'alcool isopropylique et je les polymérise pendant 10 minutes supplémentaires dans ma station de polymérisation de résine.

Le facteur décisif : Expédition et logistique
Aucun avis n'est honnête sans mentionner les points négatifs. En 2026, la chaîne logistique mondiale s'est améliorée, mais elle n'est pas parfaite.
Le coût caché : C'est au niveau des frais de port que vous risquez de vous faire avoir. Une commande de circuits imprimés à 5 $ passe à 35 $ avec l'ajout de la livraison express DHL. Si vous choisissez la livraison « Économique » (Global Direct), ne vous attendez pas à recevoir vos composants avant trois semaines.
Retards douaniers : Cette année, j'ai constaté un contrôle douanier plus strict sur les « composants techniques non identifiés ». Mon colis de circuits imprimés est resté bloqué pendant quatre jours dans un centre de tri de Cincinnati à cause d'une facture commerciale imprécise.
Conseil : Optez toujours pour la livraison DDP (rendu droits acquittés) si elle est disponible. Cela évite que le transporteur ne retienne votre prototype en otage pour 12 $ de droits de douane.
À l'aube de 2026, le choix entre fabrication en interne et sous-traitance ne repose plus sur les compétences, mais sur la capacité et la sécurité. Pour une simple pièce en PLA, utilisez votre imprimante 3D. En revanche, pour les pièces en métal fritté, les circuits imprimés complexes ou les séries de plus de 50 pièces en nylon, l'écosystème de fabrication externe est devenu un prolongement fiable de votre laboratoire. Pensez simplement à prendre en compte les délais de livraison et à contrôler chaque pièce avec un pied à coulisse avant validation.
